UNSERE GESCHICHTE

Vacation Trysil was founded by Fredrik and Simon—two longtime friends whose journey began in the snowy slopes of Bad Gastein, Austria. Back in 1997/98, we met while working (and skibumming) at the iconic Salzburger Hof. That season sparked not only a friendship but a shared passion for hospitality and adventure.

Over the years, we carved out careers in Sweden’s fast-paced restaurant scene, often crossing paths and following each other's footsteps. Eventually, life took us in different directions: Fredrik moved to Spain and launched a successful property management company, while Simon ventured to the French Riviera and even Tokyo, Japan.

In 2007, Simon settled in Trysil—and it didn’t take long before Fredrik began visiting. From the very first trip, we both saw the untapped potential of this stunning mountain village. That spark led 2024 to the creation of Vacation Trysil: a company built on friendship, experience, and a deep love for alpine living.

Today, Simon continues to shape Trysil’s hospitality scene, running several beloved venues including Hotel Trysil, Taste Mat & Vinhus, and the Golf Restaurant Bistro 19. His commitment to quality and atmosphere has helped elevate Trysil as a year-round destination for food, comfort, and mountain charm.
